TASCHEN, i love you!

TASCHEN is the greatest publisher of art books in the universe! My love affair with their books began back in 1994 at The Strand searching for information about Egon Schiele. I found an absolute gem of a book, complete with gorgeous full-page color reproductions and comprehensive information about the artist. From then on I turned to TASCHEN when I needed to learn about an artist. You can imagine my excitement when in 2005 Julius Wiedemann, TASCHEN’s brilliant editor, contacted me about including my work in their new book called “Illustration Now!“, the first in a series showcasing 150 of ‘today’s best illustrators’. It was too exciting for words! The book came out in 2006 and was followed by the “Illustration Now! calendar“. In 2011 the excitement continued when my work was included in TASCHEN’s “Illustration Now! Portraits“. And just when I thought things couldn’t get better… this past December TASCHEN released another epic title “100 Illustrators“, a selection of today’s most successful and important illustrators from around the globe, edited by the very best… Julius Wiedemann and Steven Heller (that’s THE Steven Heller who gave me my first editorial job at The New York Times in ’99! Thank you Steven, thank you Julius and thank you TASCHEN!
