Description

Stumbling around the city last week on one of the hottest days in the history of weather keeping, I came across the July/August 2010 issue of HOW Magazine, the creative and business resource for graphic designers. I have always wanted to work for HOW so when art director Bridgid McCarren asked me to create a piece for an article about freelancing, I was over the moon! I love when I get to work for a publication that I actually read and even better yet, a subject I can directly relate to. The article “New Rules for Freelancers” on page 40 by Ilise Benun, founder of Marketing Mentor and co-producer of the Creative Freelancer Conference, is really fun as well as informative and talks about how following your mother’s advice could be hindering your success as a freelancer.

I also wanted to share some of the in-progress photos I took during the making of this piece. Here’s a little look behind the scenes at my work process. Enjoy!
